Coinbase is a worldwide financial services company based here in the United States, in business since May 2012.

They are a cryptocurrency company that people use to buy and sell cryptocurrencies on what is known as the Blockchain.

Cryptocurrencies are a different form of currency (money). Our US dollar is a form of currency called fiat currency. Since its inception (2009) people worldwide have been buying, selling, and trading cryptocurrencies on the blockchain and making some very good money by doing so.

Trading crypto is not regulated and can be done simply by buying them and giving them away to whomever you choose.

With our financial system being based on the US dollar the crypto that we have would have to be converted to US dollars before being usable in the US, and this is done through crypto brokerages such as Coinbase.
